“No One Will Be Allowed to Breach Law,” Says Police on Security Outside Pakistan High Commission
In the wake of Tuesday’s terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir, security measures have been heightened across the national capital, PTI reported.
Following the terrorist attack on tourists in the Baisaran meadows of Pahalgam, which shook the nation by claiming 26 lives and injuring many others, security has been tightened outside the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi, the report said, citing officials.
"We have deployed paramilitary forces along with Delhi Police personnel outside the High Commission of Pakistan. No one will be allowed to breach law and order there," said a senior police officer.
Saad Ahmad Warraich currently serves as the Charge d’Affaires at the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi. He assumed office in February 2024, succeeding Aizaz Khan.
The commission has been targeted in the past. In 2013, protesters breached police barricades during demonstrations, prompting the Delhi Police to use water cannons to disperse the crowd.
Amid national outrage, multiple protests are being staged in various parts of the country.
