Infiltration Bid Foiled in Baramulla’s Uri Sector, Two Terrorists Neutralized by Indian Army, latest news:
An infiltration attempt by terrorists at the Line of Control (LOC) in the Uri sector of Baramulla district, Jammu and Kashmir, was thwarted by the Indian Army on Wednesday. In the ensuing heavy exchange of fire, the Army neutralized two terrorists. A large cache of weapons, ammunition, and other war-like stores was recovered from the infiltrators. The operation is still underway.

"Heavy exchange of fire between security forces and terrorists. Two terrorists have been eliminated. The infiltration bid was foiled by the security forces during the ongoing operation in Baramulla. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition, and other war-like materials has been recovered from the terrorists. The operation is in progress," the Indian Army said in a statement.

According to reports, the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps of the Indian Army stated that 2-3 unidentified terrorists attempted to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan near Uri Nala in Baramulla.
“On 23 April 2025, approximately 2-3 unidentified terrorists tried to infiltrate through the general area of Sarjeevan at Uri Nala, Baramulla. The alert troops on the LOC challenged and intercepted them, resulting in a firefight,” the Chinar Corps said.

This infiltration attempt comes a day after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam that killed 28 tourists in the Baisaran meadows of the region. Following the incident, a joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the general area of Baisaran, Pahalgam in Anantnag district.
