As Christmas approaches, many Delhi residents are travelling to Manali in Himachal Pradesh and other hill regions to escape the city’s toxic air, where AQI levels remain well within the ‘good’ category.
A tourist from Delhi told news agency ANI, "The pollution in Delhi is so bad that it's difficult to even breathe, so we thought we'd make a plan to go somewhere where the AQI is less... The AQI here is approximately below 50, while in Delhi it's around 700. It seems like Delhi has turned into a gas chamber. Surviving in Delhi is extremely difficult.."
Fresh snowfall at Rohtang Pass, and Atal Tunnel
A fresh spell of snowfall was witnessed at Rohtang Pass and Atal Tunnel in Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. Ashish Soni, a tourist from Indore, told ANI, “We are enjoying ourselves here a lot. We didn’t expect the snowfall, but it’s such a good experience. It’s very fresh snowfall.”
