Leaders Discussed Ways to Enhance India-Japan Friendship in Various Fields

NEW-DELHI: The Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi met the Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida in Hiroshima, Japan and inaugurated the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Meanwhile, he also gave a message of peace to the world. He said that the Gandhian ideals of peace and harmony resonated globally and empowered millions of people.

Meanwhile, the two leaders discussed ways to enhance India-Japan friendship in various fields including trade, economy and culture. Prime Minister Modi is participating in the G7 Summit under the chairmanship of Japan at the invitation of Fumio Kishida.

PM Modi extended gratitude to the Japanese government for giving him the opportunity to unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. He said that we all should follow the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and follow the path of world welfare. This will be a true tribute to Mahatma Gandhi.

Prime Minister Modi said, "Even today, hearing the name of Hiroshima, the world trembles. In this visit to the G7 Summit, I first had the privilege of unveiling the statue of Honorable Mahatma Gandhi. Today, the world is struggling with climate change and war on terrorism."

He said that Mahatma Gandhi's ideal is the best way to win the fight against climate change. Their lifestyle has been a fitting example of respect, harmony and dedication to nature. Prime Minister Modi further said that he had given the Bodhi tree as a gift to the Japanese Prime Minister. It is planted here in Hiroshima so that people can come here and understand the importance of peace.
