18 Naxalites were gunned down in the first shootout, and weapons and explosives were recovered from the scene.

"22 Naxalites Dead in Chhattisgarh Gunfights; Police Jawan Martyred": In a major anti-Naxalite operation, security personnel in Chhattisgarh eliminated 22 Naxalites in two encounters on Thursday. The operations were conducted in the Bijapur and Dantewada districts, with the first encounter being at around 7 a.m. in a forest area near the border of the districts.

18 Naxalites were gunned down in the first shootout, and weapons and explosives were recovered from the scene. Unfortunately, one jawan from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) unit was also martyred during the firing.
