Unfortunate incident occurred in Ratangarh, Churu district

CHURU: A Heart-Wrenching incident unfolded during a Kabaddi match at the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Olympic competition in Churu, Rajasthan, when a 13-year-old girl student collapsed on the ground due to dizziness. Tragically, despite immediate medical attention, the doctors pronounced her dead. The unfortunate incident occurred in Ratangarh, Churu district, casting a pall of sorrow over the sports event.

The Matches were scheduled to begin at 8 am, but due to apparent negligence on the part of officials, they commenced at 10:30 am, exposing players to the scorching sun. The competition was being held at the playground of Ram Gyan Bhavan. Among the matches was the Ulsar-Bacharada Women's Kabaddi match, which commenced at the delayed time.

During the Kabaddi game, the young student from Ulsar, identified as Prem Kumar Swamy, and the daughter of Manavi Swamy, fell to the ground while attempting a raid. The teachers and officials promptly rushed her to the Government Hospital. Tragically, despite their best efforts, medical professionals at the hospital declared her deceased.

The students participating in the block-level competitions expressed their distress over the delayed start time, coupled with the scorching weather conditions. They noted the absence of provisions for drinking water and highlighted issues with the quality of food packets that were distributed, which were reportedly prepared two days in advance and discarded due to an unpleasant odor. Authorities initially remained tight-lipped when questioned about these concerns.

The Chief District Education Officer (CDEO), Jagbir Singh Yadav, stated that an inquiry into the incident is underway. He acknowledged that a delay occurred in the scheduled matches, leading to potential discomfort for participants. Meanwhile, local leaders and officials extended their condolences to the bereaved family and expressed their support during this trying time.
