Technical Glitch Forces Unscheduled Landing; Congress Leaders Safe on Alternate Flight to Delhi

NEW-DELHI: A scheduled chartered flight carrying senior Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi from Bengaluru to Delhi had to make an emergency landing at Raja Bhoj Airport in Bhopal due to a technical issue. The incident occurred on Tuesday (July 18) after the duo had attended a crucial meeting of opposition parties in Bengaluru.

According to the available information, the flight experienced a technical problem, necessitating an unscheduled landing at the Bhopal airport for safety measures. Prompt actions were taken, and both Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi were safely dropped off at Bhopal Airport.

Subsequently, the Congress leaders continued their journey to Delhi on an IndiGo Airlines flight, ensuring their safe return to the national capital.The reason for the technical malfunction in the chartered flight has not been disclosed, and further details regarding the nature of the issue are yet to be revealed by the concerned authorities.

Earlier, Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi had traveled to Bengaluru to attend a significant meeting of opposition parties. The meeting, which commenced on Monday and concluded on Tuesday, witnessed the participation of 26 opposition parties. During this gathering, they announced the formation of a new alliance called the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (India) in preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
