Elon Musk led American electric vehicle (EV) company, Tesla has advertised job openings for 13 positions based in Mumbai and Delhi on its LinkedIn handle. This news comes just days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Tesla CEO Elon Musk during the former's two-day visit to the U.S.
The available roles include Tesla Advisor, Inside Sales Advisor, Customer Support Specialist, Consumer Engagement Manager, Order Operations Specialist, Service Manager, Business Operations Analyst, Store Manager, Parts Advisor, Service Advisor, Delivery Operations Specialist, and Customer Support Supervisor.
Out of the 13 positions, 12 are full-time, while one is part-time.
Reports suggest that Tesla is planning to set up three manufacturing plants in India.
Tesla has not sold cars in India due to high import duties, although the company has long been interested in the Indian market. However, with India's goal of achieving net zero emissions by 2070 and the growing demand for sustainable solutions, the country presents a promising opportunity for Tesla.
In a move that could encourage Tesla’s entry, India has reduced the basic customs duty on high-end cars priced above $40,000 from 110% to 70%.
