The incident came to light one day after a major fire at the trauma care ICU of SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

A fire broke out at the multi-speciality block of Government Medical College Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram earlier this morning. A suspected short circuit in a machine is believed to be the preliminary cause of the incident, according to news agency ANI.

Former MLA Kadakampally Surendran arrived at the incident site and confirmed that the fire has been brought under control.
