Keralam, along with three other states and one Union Territory, is set to go for Assembly elections in April, with the counting of votes scheduled to take place on 4 May.
The order comes a day after the EC ordered a major administrative reshuffle in the poll-bound state of West Bengal, which saw widespread criticism from the ruling state government. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar today, expressing dissatisfaction.
In the letter to the CEC, she alleged the move undermines federalism and democratic principles.
