As per the 2023 guidelines for distributing ex-gratia amounts, the Railways can provide a maximum of Rs 50,000 in cash for immediate relief

Delhi Stampede; Rupees 1.99 crore announced for the victims latest news: Families of those who died in the stampede and those who suffered injuries at Delhi Railway Station have received a total amount of Rs 1.9 crore. 
The incident took place in the night of 15 February and by 4 am, the next morning, families and relatives of those died in the stampede and those injured, started receiving ex-gratia amounts distributed by Railways.

The Railways announced ex-gratia amounts of Rs 10 lakh to each of the families of those who died, Rs 2.5 lakh to those grievously injured, and Rs 1 lakh for “simple” injuries. 
The official announcement for ex-gratia was made at 11am on Sunday, though the distribution started at 4 am in the morning that day. All the ex-gratia was handed in cash even ex-gratia of Rupees up to 10 lakhs.

As per a report published in The News Minute, Virendra Singh, whose wife Poonam, 34, was killed, told Newslaundry he was handed what an official said was Rs 10 lakh in cash outside Ram Manohar Lohia hospital’s mortuary at 6.30 am. And that he was yet to count it the money. 

As per the 2023 guidelines for distributing ex-gratia amounts, the Railways can provide a maximum of Rs 50,000 in cash for “immediate relief.” The remaining amount must be disbursed through cheque, RTGS, NEFT, or other online payment methods. 
An incident of a stampede occurred at platform no. 13 and 14, at Delhi Railway station, in which 18 were killed, of which 11 were women and 5 children.  The stampede reportedly lasted for 15 minutes. 

According to a report published in The News Minute, two key trains to Prayagraj were delayed, and when the announcements for the arrival of the trains were made, the crowd, many of them pilgrims traveling to the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, surged forward to board the trains, and the incident occurred.
