Noida Police have arrested two “dreaded criminals” associated with the Sundar Bhati gang near Yamuna Pushta in Gharbara village, police said.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Greater Noida Dr. Praveen Ranjan Singh told news agency PTI that the accused were arrested following a police encounter conducted by a joint team of Ecotech-1 Police Station and the Crime Branch, Gautam Buddh Nagar, on Sunday evening.
The police team recovered illegal weapons from their possession, including a .32 bore pistol and a .315 bore country-made gun, along with live cartridges.
According to the DCP, one of the accused is a resident of Gautam Buddh Nagar, while the other is from Pandav Nagar, Delhi.
Further legal action and investigation are underway in the matter, the DCP added.
Election Schedule for West Bengal
The ECI announced the schedule for the 2026 General Elections at a press conference held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi yesterday.
According to the schedule, West Bengal is set to go to the polls in two phases, with Phase 1 scheduled to take place on 23 April 2026 and Phase 2 on 29 April 2026.
The counting of votes will take place on 4 May 2026.
