Manali (Himachal Pradesh), March 15, 2025 – Controversy erupted in Manali when a young man from Punjab was seen riding his motorcycle with a Khalistani flag bearing an image of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.

Outraged by the display, local residents swiftly intervened, forcibly removing the flag and labeling the act as an anti-national symbol.

The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral, sparking widespread condemnation. Locals voiced their concerns, stressing that tourist destinations should not be exploited for promoting separatist ideologies and called on authorities to take firm action to prevent similar occurrences in the future.

Manali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) KD Sharma confirmed that the biker had been penalized under the Motor Vehicles Act. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation to avoid further unrest.

Separate Incident at Kasol Barrier Involving Punjab Tourists

In another development, around 20 bikers from Punjab clashed with authorities at the SADA barrier in Kasol, located in the Manikaran Valley of Kullu. The group reportedly refused to pay the area's maintenance fee, leading to a heated argument. Tensions escalated when the bikers forcefully broke through the barrier and proceeded towards Manikaran without permission.

Kullu Superintendent of Police (SP) Karthikeyan Gokulchandran confirmed that a case has been filed against the bikers for violating regulations.

The recent incidents have raised concerns among local residents and officials, who are calling for greater enforcement of local laws and respect for community sentiment. Many have demanded that stricter action be taken against tourists who misuse these popular spots for political or disruptive purposes.

In response, the Himachal Pradesh Police have assured the public that increased vigilance will be maintained, emphasizing that any actions that disrupt peace and harmony will be met with severe consequences.
