PM Modi Flags Off First Flight from Hisar to Ayodhya, Slams Congress

“Every scheme and policy we bring is guided by Baba Saheb’s mission of justice and equality,” he said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the first commercial flight from Hisar Airport to Ayodhya, a symbolic move that came on the birth anniversary of Dr. BR Ambedkar. The Prime Minister also initiated the construction of a new terminal at Maharaja Agrasen Airport, a key step in boosting regional connectivity.

PM Modi highlighted that this was more than just an aviation milestone—it represented the government’s vision for inclusive development inspired by Ambedkar’s ideals. “Every scheme and policy we bring is guided by Baba Saheb’s mission of justice and equality,” he said.

The Prime Minister didn’t hold back in his criticism of the Congress party, accusing it of marginalizing Ambedkar and denying him the respect he deserved. He charged that Congress, while enjoying elite privileges, failed to provide basic services like piped water to marginalized communities.

He further accused the Congress of distorting constitutional values for political gain, referencing its imposition of the Emergency and failure to enact a Uniform Civil Code. “We’ve brought a secular civil code to Uttarakhand, but Congress continues to resist it,” Modi said.

Modi also condemned the Congress for politicizing the Waqf Act and allowing land encroachments under its provisions. “With the changes we’ve introduced, no tribal land can be taken over by the Waqf Board anymore,” he declared.

He said the amended laws will empower underprivileged sections within the Muslim community, especially women and children, ensuring their rights and property are safeguarded.

On security and logistics, Hisar saw deployment of over 2,500 police personnel, including top IPS officers. The event was attended by thousands who came from various districts, with transport arranged through 1,500 buses.

The new airport will operate two weekly flights to Ayodhya and three to other destinations, connecting Hisar to a broader aviation network and accelerating the region’s development prospects.
