BJP government in the state is doing 'a new scam every month'- Priyanka Gandhi
JABALPUR: Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra kicked off her party's campaign for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections which will be held later this year with a rally in Jabalpur on Monday and alleged that there were 225 scams in the BJP government's 220-month rule. She accused the Shivraj Singh Chauhan government of indulging in corruption and failing to provide jobs.
Referring to the alleged corruption in Vyapam, excavation, e-tender and ration distribution, she said that 225 'scams' have taken place in the 220 months of the BJP government's rule in the state. The Congress General Secretary said that the BJP government in the state is doing 'a new scam every month'. He made five promises to waive farmers' loans in Madhya Pradesh, Rs 1,500 per month scheme for women, Rs 500 cooking gas cylinder, old age pension scheme and provide cheap electricity to the Congress with which Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka has won the assembly elections.
Earlier, after reaching Jabalpur, Priyanka also performed pooja in the Narmada river, which is considered the lifeline of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Kamal Nath, State Party General Secretary J.P. Aggarwal and Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Tankha also performed puja on the banks of the Narmada at Gwarighat.
