India's tough military and diplomatic stance has made one thing abundantly clear to Islamabad
India Denounces Pakistan's Remarks, Issues Warning Against Illusions of Evading Accountability latest news: India gave a strong counter on Tuesday to Pakistan Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar's recent rhetoric, saying that the nation's reaction to terror had reached a "new normal" and cautioning Islamabad against any illusions about being able to evade accountability for cross-border terrorism.
In reply to both a statement by Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Dar's CNN interview, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said: "A nation that has developed terrorism on a mass scale and thinks it will be able to escape the price is only deluding itself. The terror network targeted by India was not just responsible for killing Indian citizens, but innocent men and women in all parts of the globe. There is now a new normal. The better it is understood by Pakistan at the earliest, the better.
This strong message was issued after Dar alleged that the military actions by Pakistan were taken in "self-defense" as a response to retaliatory actions by India on May 7, under Operation Sindoor. The Indian airstrikes were against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after a lethal terror attack on April in Pahalgam killed several Indian soldiers.
In his interview with CNN, Dar said Pakistan was not contemplating using nuclear weapons but termed Indian precision attacks as an "act of war." He blamed New Delhi for trying to establish "dominion" in Kashmir and reiterated that long-standing bilateral talks remained outstanding. "We hope sense will prevail," Dar said. But India stands resolute.
In his first national address following Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated:"India's retaliatory attacks on Pakistan's terror and military infrastructure are just the start. Operation Sindoor has marked a new line in our war against terrorism — a new phase, a new normal. Any terrorist attack on Indian soil will be responded to with a befitting and powerful response. India will not give in to nuclear blackmail."
India's tough military and diplomatic stance has made one thing abundantly clear to Islamabad: Cross-border terrorism won't be tolerated, and any mischief will be responded to with speed and precision.
While a ceasefire continues to hold under international intervention, India's message is unequivocal — terror and dialogue cannot go together, and any attempt at provocation will be answered by crushing force.
