BJP leads by 15,000 votes in Shivamogga

BENGALURU: The Counting of Votes commenced in Karnataka on Saturday. As per the Election Commission of India, Early trends showed Congress leading against the BJP and JD(S). At around 9:15 am, the Congress was leading on 38 seats while the BJP was ahead on 15 seats and JD(S) on 2.

Talking about the current trends, the Congress party is ahead in 118 seats. It has managed to stay above the majority mark of 113. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading in 78 seats. The Janata Dal (JD) is ahead with 25 seats. BJP leads by 15,000 votes in Shivamogga where party replaced veteran leader KS Eshwarappa

Notably, Both HD Kumaraswamy and son Nikhil Kumaraswamy have maintained leads in their respective constituencies. Congress candidate A R Krishnamurthy is marching towards victory in Kollegal reserve segment in Chamarajanagar district. He is receiving a lead of 17,699 against his BJP rival N Mahesh.
