A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a village in the Sahatwar area here, police said today...

A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a village in the Sahatwar area here, police said today. The incident took place when the girl had gone to attend a marriage function on May 11, they said. Police said Avinash Singh (45) of the same village took her to a secluded place and raped her, they said. Police said an FIR was registered today on a complaint lodged by the victim's mother. The accused has been arrested, they said.
