Delhi car blast case: Police searching for red Ford EcoSport; Haryana, UP Police alerted

The development comes after the November 10 car blast near the Red Fort in the national capital, which killed at least eight people.

All police stations, police posts, and border checkpoints in Delhi have been alerted to look out for a red Ford EcoSport car, following investigations that revealed the suspects possessed another vehicle in addition to the Hyundai i20 in connection with the Delhi Car blast, according to ANI.

Five Delhi Police teams are currently searching for the vehicle, the agency reported. The police in Uttar Pradesh and Haryana have also been alerted about the red car.

The red Ford EcoSport car is suspected to be linked to the prime suspect, Dr Umar Un Nabi, in the Delhi blast case, who was driving the car. The suspected vehicle is registered in the name of Umar Un Nabi. Delhi Police has also shared the car’s details with the UP and Haryana Police, ANI said, citing a senior official.

According to India Today, the car had a Delhi number plate, bearing the number: DL10CK0458.

The accused had bought the car using a fake address, and Delhi police had already raided the fake address last night, and residents of the area told the police that no person named Umar Un Nabi lived in the area.

However, experts say that the colour and the number of the car could be changed, but the Delhi Police is still trying to get to the bottom of the case.

The development comes after the November 10 car blast near the Red Fort in the national capital, which killed at least eight people.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a post on X on Wednesday afternoon, said he visited LNJP Hospital and met those injured in the Delhi blast. The hospital is 10 minutes away from the spot where the explosion took place.

Prime Minister Modi's cavalcade went straight to the hospital from the airport he landed, after returning from a two-day Bhutan.

“Praying for everyone’s quick recovery. Those behind the conspiracy will be brought to justice,” the Prime Minister affirmed in his post.

The hospital is providing proper treatment to the injured victims. Families have expressed satisfaction with the kind of treatment the hospital is providing. One of the injured, identified as Ankush Sharma, has undergone plastic surgery, the family told India Today.

The PM has since left LNJP Hospital.

The prime minister will chair a crucial meeting shortly, where the preliminary investigation reports are likely to be tabled.
