J&K News: UT Police Chief Directs District Police Heads To Closely Monitor Social Media News: Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Nalin Prabhat has directed the district police heads of the Union Territory to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation that could endanger public safety and order.

According to sources, which cited a Police spokesperson, the Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police (DGP) chaired a security review meeting at the Police Control Room Kashmir to assess the current security situation and discuss measures to further strengthen the security structure.

In the meeting, the Zonal Inspector Generals and heads of various wings briefed the DGP about the current security situation in the Union Territory.

DGP was also briefed about the recent developments regarding counter-terrorism operations and actions taken in response. The discussion focused on recent security issues, ongoing challenges and strategies to address them.

During the meeting, Prabhat urged the district police heads to closely monitor social media platforms to prevent the spread of misinformation that could endanger public safety and order.

DGP also directed the officers to intensify vigil on anti-national elements and intensify area containment efforts in their respective areas, and stressed the importance of enhancing security around vulnerable targets and ensuring robust security measures.

The Jammu and Kashmir police chief also addressed the issue of increasing general crime in some areas and directed the district chiefs to strengthen community policing initiatives and improve public outreach programmes, the spokesperson said, according to sources.
