JAMMU: Simran Bala, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir's Naushera town, has become the first woman from the Union Territory to clear the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) this year. She has secured 82nd rank out of 151 candidates who have cleared this exam this year.

Simran said that being from a border district, she has seen cross-border firing, which inspired her to join the CAPF. She also wants to protect the borders of the country. He said that his dream has now come true. She has been selected for the post of CAPF Assistant Commandant.

Notably, Simran studied till 10th in Naushera, after which she moved to Jammu for higher secondary education. She completed graduation from Jammu itself. Simran said that this success has come with hard work and continuous studies. The credit for the success goes to the parents as well as the teachers. She said that whatever opportunity she gets to serve, she will do it sincerely.
