Two More Pakistani Terrorists Eliminated in Kishtwar’s Ongoing Operation Chhatru: Army

The operation was launched earlier this week following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the region.

The Indian Army on Saturday confirmed the elimination of two more Pakistani terrorists in the Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of the ongoing Operation Chhatru, taking the total number of neutralized militants to three.

The White Knight Corps reported that the counter-terrorism operation has now entered its fourth day, persisting despite adverse weather conditions. The operation was launched earlier this week following intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the region.

“In the ongoing operations at Chhatru, Kishtwar, despite bad and inclement weather, two more Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated. A large quantity of war-like stores, including one AK and one M4 rifle, have been recovered,” read a statement from the White Knight Corps on X (formerly Twitter).

Shridhar Patil, DIG of the Kishtwar-Doda-Ramban range, told the media that the operation remains active,e with several terrorists still trapped in the area. “This operation has been ongoing for the past three days. One terrorist was neutralised on Friday morning. We believe more are trapped, and the mission will continue until they are all eliminated,” he said.

On Friday, Lt. Gen. MV Suchindra Kumar, Army Commander of the Northern Command, praised the troops for their swift and precise action. “The Indian Army remains committed to keeping Jammu and Kashmir free from terrorism,” said a post from the Northern Command.

The Army continues to maintain a high-alert presence in the region as search and cordon operations intensify.
