Sisodia brought changes in Government Schools: Gopal Rai

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Monday said it has collected more than one million signatures during a door-to-door campaign against the arrest of party leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendra Jain. AAP's Delhi unit convener Gopal Rai said that after this a letter will be sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi opposing the arrest of Sisodia and Jain. Last month, the party had started a campaign to collect signatures from people by reaching door to door in all the wards.

Roy said, "Our target was to collect one million signatures and we achieved it on Sunday. Our district in-charges, Lok Sabha in-charges and councilors were involved in this campaign." He claimed that everyone knows that Sisodia and Jain have brought changes in the education and health system.

During a press conference, Rai said, "Sisodia brought changes in government schools while Jain modeled the mohalla clinic. People are angry that they have been kept in jail."

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj extended gratitude to the people of Delhi for supporting this campaign. Notably, Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26 in connection with alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of Delhi's excise policy. This policy has been cancelled. Jain was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in May last year in a money laundering case. Both had resigned from the Delhi Cabinet in February.
