Assam Releases Final Voter List; Male Voters Marginally Higher Than Female

The final voter list shows a 0.97 percent reduction compared to the draft voter list.

The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Assam, on Tuesday (10 February 2026) published the final voter list for the Special Revision (SR) 2026 covering all 126 Legislative Assembly constituencies of the state.

According to the Chief Electoral Officer, Assam, the draft voter list had a total of 2,52,01,624 voters. After the completion of the revision process, the final voter list now stands at 2,49,58,139 voters, reflecting a decrease of 2,43,485 voters.

The final electoral roll includes 1,24,82,213 male voters, 1,24,75,583 female voters, and 343 voters of the third gender.

In an official press release, the CEO’s office stated that the integrated draft voter list for Special Revision 2026 was published on 27 December 2025. Prior to this, a house-to-house (H2H) verification drive was conducted across the state from 22 November 2025 to 20 December 2025. The period for filing claims and objections remained open from 27 December 2025 to 22 January 2026.

The final voter list shows a 0.97 percent reduction compared to the draft voter list.

Appeal Mechanism:
Any decision taken by an Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) can be appealed before the District Magistrate within 15 days, it statement said. A second appeal may be filed before the Chief Electoral Officer within 30 days, as per the provisions it added.
