Following the complaint, and acting swiftly, a special police team was formed
J&K News: Budgam police in Jammu and Kashmir have arrested a person accused of being involved in an ATM fraud case in the Magam area.
A written complaint was filed by Ghulam Ahmed Bhatt, a resident of Parepura, Magam, alleging that an unknown person fraudulently obtained his ATM card on the pretext of assisting him in withdrawing cash.
Bhatt alleged that the accused deceitfully swapped his ATM card at the Jammu and Kashmir Bank ATM, Main Branch Magam, and later withdrew money using the exchanged card.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 01/2026 was registered at Police Station Magam under the relevant sections of law, and an investigation was initiated.
Following the complaint, and acting swiftly, a special police team was formed. After sustained efforts and technical analysis, the accused was arrested from the Baramulla district, police said.
The accused has been identified as Abdul Naeem Khan, a resident of Darangbal, Baramulla.
Further investigation is underway.
