NEW-DELHI: The Co-founder and CEO of Pepperfry, Ambareesh Murty, has tragically passed away due to a heart attack. The news has sent shockwaves through the business world, as the visionary entrepreneur's unexpected departure leaves a void that will be deeply felt across industries.

Ambareesh Murty was in Leh when he suffered the heart attack that led to his untimely demise. His contributions to the business realm are profound, having co-founded Pepperfry in Mumbai in 2012 alongside Ashish Shah. The venture revolutionized the way people perceived and acquired furniture and home decor items, solidifying his legacy as an innovator in the e-commerce space.

Before co-founding Pepperfry, Ambareesh Murty held the position of Country Manager at eBay, where he played a key role in shaping the platform's trajectory within the Indian market. His strategic insights and industry acumen helped elevate eBay's presence and influence during his tenure.

Ashish Shah, co-founder of Pepperfry, expressed his grief through a heartfelt post on 'X', mourning the loss of his cherished friend, mentor, and brother. He shared, "Extremely devastated to inform that my friend, mentor, brother, soulmate Ambareesh Murty is no more. Lost him yesterday night to a cardiac arrest at Leh. Please pray for him and for strength to his family and near ones."
