In a distressing development, a CRPF vehicle plunged into a ravine on Thursday at the Kadva Basantgarh area of Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir, killing two soldiers, News 18 reported.
Moreover, twelve other soldiers have been injured in the accident.
According to the report, police, along with an ambulance, have been rushed to the spot to initiate a rescue operation, ASP Udhampur Sandeep Bhat confirmed.
Union Minister Jitendra Singh wrote in a social media post, reacting to the disturbing news, he said, “Disturbing to receive the news of a road accident involving a CRPF vehicle in the Kandva–Basantgarh area."
Union Minister Jitendra Singh said he spoke to DC Ms. Saloni Rai, who he said is personally monitoring the situation and keeping him updated.
Jitendra Singh added that locals from the area have voluntarily come forward to assist the injured in the accident.
“All possible help being ensured,” he assured.
