India Downs Pakistan JF-17 Jet in Pulwama After Operation Sindoor Latest news: In a significant escalation along the Line of Control (LoC), India shot down a Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jet attempting to intrude into Indian airspace in Pulwama’s Pampore on Wednesday. The Indian Army simultaneously launched missile strikes on nine terror targets across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under ‘Operation Sindoor,’ targeting key bases, including a Jaish-e-Mohammad stronghold in Bahawalpur.
Pakistan’s military confirmed Indian missile strikes hit Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Ahmed East in Bahawalpur, according to the Express Tribune. In retaliation, Pakistani forces resorted to heavy mortar shelling on Indian villages along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri districts, targeting Krishna Ghati, Shahpur, Mankote, Laam, Manjakote, and Gambeer Brahmana. Indian forces responded robustly, with cross-border shelling ongoing, officials said.
The Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information (ADGPI) stated on X, “Pakistan again violates the Ceasefire Agreement by firing artillery in Bhimber Gali in Poonch-Rajauri area. Indian Army is responding appropriately in a calibrated manner.” A powerful explosion was also reported in Ramban’s Panthiyal sub-division, though its cause remains unclear.
The strikes come two weeks after a terror attack in Pahalgam, with the Indian Army vowing justice. “Justice is served. Jai Hind!” the Army posted on X. A detailed briefing on ‘Operation Sindoor’ is expected later today.
