Mumbai: A heartbreaking incident has come to light from Mumbai's Sion Hospital. A video is going viral on social media regarding the same in which it can be seen that corona virus patients are being treated in the hospital where the bodies of those who died due to corona have been kept.
CoronavirusThe video was shared by former Chief Minister Narayan Rane's son and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Nitesh Rane on his Twitter handle, which has now caused a stir in Mumbai.
Sharing the video, Nitesh Rane wrote, "Patients in Sion Hospital are sleeping like corpses. What kind of administration is this? It is very embarrassing. Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis also shared his views on the video shared by Nitesh Rane.
CoronavirusDevendra Fadnavis tweeted that the incident at Sion Hospital is very serious. Treating patients with corpses is a serious matter. The government should take immediate action and ensure that such an incident does not happen again.
According to media reports, Pramod Ingale, dean of Zion Hospital, said that relatives of the patients who died due to Covid-19 were reluctant to take the bodies. He said that was the reason why the bodies were kept there. The bodies have now been removed and the matter is being investigated.
When asked why the bodies were not kept in the mortuary, Dr Ingale said the hospital mortuary had 15 slots, 11 of which were already filled.
