Reddy resigned from the primary membership of Congress in March 2023

NEW-DELHI: Former Congress leader and the former Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh N. Kiran Kumar Reddy joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday. Reddy acquired BJP membership in the presence of Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, BJP National General Secretary Arun Singh and party chief spokesperson Anil Baluni.

In March this year, Reddy resigned from the primary membership of the Congress. Born in September 1959, Reddy served as the 16th Chief Minister of undivided Andhra Pradesh from 25 November 2010 to 01 March 2014.

He was the last Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh before the formation of the state of Telangana on 2 June 2014. While leaving Congress, Reddy sent a one-line resignation letter to party president Mallikarjun Kharge
