Official records reveal that Bhainswal had previously been arrested in India and granted bail, but he absconded before facing trial.
Bishnoi Gang Member Aman Bhainswal Repatriated from the US; Held at Delhi Airport
On Wednesday, in a significant operation coordinated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Aman Bhainswal, identified as a key member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, was repatriated from the United States. He was immediately taken into custody by a team from the Haryana Police upon his arrival at the Delhi airport on January 7, 2026.
Bhainswal was wanted by the Haryana Police on serious charges, including murder, rioting, and criminal conspiracy. A CBI spokesperson described him as a "notorious criminal and key member of an organised criminal gang, namely the Lawrence Bishnoi gang." Official records reveal that Bhainswal had previously been arrested in India and granted bail, but he absconded before facing trial.
The breakthrough in the case came when the CBI obtained an Interpol Red Notice for Bhainswal at the request of the Haryana Police. Using this international warrant, authorities tracked and located the fugitive in the United States.
"He was successfully deported from the USA and arrived in India on January 7, 2026," a CBI official confirmed regarding the repatriation. The official further noted that Bhainswal was handed over to the Haryana Police at the airport. This development follows ongoing efforts by Indian agencies to bring back members of organised crime syndicates who have fled abroad to avoid legal proceedings and trials for their alleged crimes.
