NEW-DELHI: Sonia Gandhi, the Chief of the Congress Parliamentary Party, addressed a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, urging for the inclusion of crucial topics in the upcoming special session of Parliament scheduled to commence on September 18.

In her letter, Gandhi emphasized the need for discussions during the session regarding several pressing matters that are of national importance. Expressing her concerns about the process leading up to the special session, Sonia Gandhi noted, "I would like to state that the special session of Parliament was called without consulting the political parties. We are not aware of the agenda of this session."

Gandhi's letter further elaborated on the subjects she believes should be addressed during the session, including the economic condition of the nation, ongoing negotiations with farmers' organizations, the necessity for a JPC inquiry into matters concerning the Adani Group, the demand for a caste-based census, challenges to federal structures, the impact of natural disasters, border tensions with China, communal tensions in specific regions, and the situation in Manipur.
