Padma Awards 2023: 53 Dignitaries including Mulayam Singh Yadav honored with Padma Awards

Music composer MM Keeravani, who composed the song 'Natu Natu', was awarded the Padma Shri

New Delhi: The President of the country, Droupadi Murmu honored 53 dignitaries with Padma Awards 2023. In the program held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Late Mulayam Singh Yadav, the founder of the Samajwadi Party, was awarded the Padma Vibhushan posthumously. Samajwadi Party president and his son Akhilesh Yadav received the award on behalf of Mulayam Singh Yadav at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Renowned Dr. Dilip Mahalanabis was also posthumously honored with Padma Vibhushan.

Writer Sudha Murthy, physicist Deepak Dhar, novelist S.L. Bhyrappa and Vedic scholar Tridandi Chinna J Swamiji were also awarded the Padma Bhushan. Deepak Dhar is known for his long research career in statistical physics. Anand Kumar and Raveena Tandon etc. were also honored with the Padma Award.

Sudha Murthy also received the Padma Bhushan from President Draupadi Murmu. Music composer MM Keeravani, who composed the song 'Natu Natu', was awarded the Padma Shri. Anand Kumar, the founder of the Super 30 Education Programme, was also honored with the Padma Shri. Dilip Mahalanabis, who returned from America to serve in the refugee camps of the 1971 Bangladesh war, was honored posthumously.

Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP President JP Nadda and many other Union ministers were present at the ceremony. A total of 53 awardees were conferred on Wednesday, including three Padma Vibhushan, five Padma Bhushan and 45 Padma Shri.
