Centre Scales Down Security Cover of Former PM Manmohan Singh’s Wife Gursharan Kaur, Latest News: The Central Government has reduced the armed security cover of Gursharan Kaur, wife of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
Gursharan Kaur previously had Z-plus security cover as an immediate family member of the former Prime Minister. Her security has now been downgraded to Z category, the second-highest level of protection, following a revised security review conducted by the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The central VIP protection list ranks security levels in the following order: Z+ (ASL), Z+, Z, Y+, Y, and X.
