In addition to this launch, Apple revealed plans to open four new retail stores in major Indian cities—Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi-NCR, and Mumbai. This follows the opening of two flagship stores in April 2023, located in Delhi and Mumbai.
Deirdre O'Brien, Apple's Senior Vice President of Retail, expressed excitement about the company's growing presence in India. "We’re thrilled to build our teams as we plan to open more stores in India because we’re inspired by the creativity and passion of our customers across this country. We can't wait for them to have even more opportunities to discover and shop for our amazing products and services, and connect with our extraordinary, knowledgeable team members," O'Brien said in a statement.
Although specific dates for the new stores have not been confirmed, sources familiar with the development suggest that the openings are likely to occur next year, further strengthening Apple's footprint in the Indian market.
The move reflects Apple's strategy to localize its production and enhance customer engagement in India, one of the company's fastest-growing markets.
