He also confirmed that the cost of treatment for the injured is being borne by the state government.

Faridabad joyride collapse updates: Among the 12 people injured in the joyride collapse at the Surajkund Mela yesterday, six have been discharged from hospitals, while the remaining six continue to receive treatment, MD, Haryana Tourism Corporation Ltd, Parth Gupta said on Sunday. 

Gupta stated that the incident occurred around 6:15 pm at a joyride in the fair’s amusement park, injuring 12 people and leaving Inspector Jagdish dead.

Gupta confirmed that the inspector was on duty and was martyred while attempting to rescue the injured.

“He rushed to the collapsed joyride to save people, and in that moment something hit his head, leading to his death in the line of duty,” Gupta said.

He also confirmed that the cost of treatment for the injured is being borne by the state government.

Gupta added that the Chief Minister has been apprised of the incident and will soon make an announcement regarding compensation for the victims.

Earlier, Parth Gupta and the Deputy Commissioner of Faridabad visited the hospitals where the injured are receiving treatment and confirmed that six have been discharged, with two more likely to be discharged soon.

An ADC-level committee has been formed to investigate the matter, the MD said, adding that action will follow as per the findings.

Additionally, an FIR has been registered in connection with the incident.

He claimed that the incident took place despite safety measures being in place. He added that while the Surajkund Mela continues, the amusement park has been closed.
