Delhi Police's Special Cell initiated raids at 'Newsclick' and its journalists' premises, seizing data from mobile phones and electronic devices

NEW-DELHI: In a significant development, the Special Cell of the Delhi Police launched raids on Tuesday morning at various locations linked to the news portal 'Newsclick' and its journalists. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had previously conducted raids at the company's premises as part of an ongoing investigation into the funding sources of 'Newsclick'. The current raids were initiated based on information provided by central agencies.

Officials revealed that during the operation, the police successfully retrieved 'dump data,' which refers to data transferred from mobile phones, computers, laptops, or other electronic devices. This move was a crucial step in the investigative process. The Special Cell has since registered a new case and commenced a thorough investigation into the matter.
