Bengaluru College Student Accuses Paying Guest Owner of Rape Latest News: A college student in Bengaluru has accused the owner of her paying guest accommodation of raping her, NDTV reported.
According to the report, the student lodged a complaint at a local police station, following which an FIR was registered and the accused, identified as Ashraf, was arrested.
In her complaint, the student stated that she had moved into Ashraf’s property as a paying guest just 10 days ago.
"On the night of August 2, 2025, around 12:41 a.m., while I was sitting at our PG, Ashraf approached me and said he would provide food and accommodation and asked me to cooperate with him. When I refused, he held my hand, dragged me, and forced me into a car, took me to a room. There, he sexually assaulted me," she said in her complaint, as quoted in the report.
She also said she tried to share her location with a friend but was unable to do so. She added that Ashraf dropped her back at the PG between 1:30 a.m. and 2:15 a.m.
This is the second such incident reported in Bengaluru in recent times.
The report added that a similar case occurred last month, when another PG owner was accused of raping a student residing on the premises.
In that case, a 21-year-old nursing student alleged that Ravi Teja Reddy raped her. after she reportedly admitted to stealing three gold rings from another woman living in the same PG. It is alleged that the accused sexually assaulted her when she pleaded with him not to report the theft to the police.
