First WAVES Summit, 2025, Jio World Centre in Mumbai latest news: The World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) is currently underway at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, having been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, May 1. This historic four-day event is being hosted in India for the first time. The third day of the summit has commenced.
As part of today's sessions, Ted Sarandos, Co-CEO of Netflix, is scheduled to participate in a fireside chat with actor Saif Ali Khan. This highly anticipated conversation is taking place at Jasmine II Hall of the Jio World Centre. Day three also features a range of Indian and international performances, along with interactive sessions.
Before Sarandos’ session, the day included panels on topics such as:

During the inaugural address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed artists, celebrities, innovators, investors, and policymakers from over 100 countries. He remarked, “The foundation of a global ecosystem of global talent and global creativity is being laid here today.” The Prime Minister also announced upcoming initiatives, including the WAVES Awards.
He further said, “WAVES is not just an acronym — it truly is a wave… of culture, of creativity, and of universal connection.”
He emphasized the summit’s inclusive platform, adding, “And riding this wave is a vast universe of film, music, gaming, animation, storytelling, and creativity. WAVES is a global platform that now belongs to every artist and every creator — a place where every performer will connect with the creative world through new ideas.”
In a video shared ahead of the event on WAVES’ official Instagram handle, Priyanka Chopra stated, “This is not just a conference — WAVES is India’s bold step onto the world stage, a signal that our creative economy is not just thriving but ready to lead.” She concluded by saying, “India’s moment is not coming, it’s already here.”
Additionally, Adobe announced a series of strategic initiatives supporting the Government of India’s vision — ‘Create in India, Create for the World’ — during the summit’s inaugural day.
