While participating in the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha, Mr. Gandhi said the speech was "pretty much" the same as what they had heard in previous years.

Criticism of the President's Speech: In his speech, Mr. Gandhi branded the address of the President as a "laundry list" of accomplishments by the government, saying the President did not address the pertinent issues facing the country. "I must say, I tried to keep my attention on what was being said during the President's address, but I struggled because I pretty much heard that same President's address the last time and the time before that," he added, pointing to his frustration that there was not much new coming out.
