JAMMU & KASHMIR: Punjab Police have arrested two smugglers from Punjab with 22 kg heroin. Both the accused are residents of Gurdaspur district in Punjab. They have been identified as Onkar Singh and Shamsher Singh, resident of village Talmandi Virk. They were nabbed from the Jammu-Rajouri National Highway and near ITI in Sunderbani area.

Police is ascertaining to whom the consignment of drugs was to be delivered. The market value of the seized drugs is said to be Rs 150 crore. SSP Amritpal Singh said that the police had received information that two suspicious persons were going from Rajouri towards Jammu. After this, police teams across the district were put on alert. Apart from setting up checkpoints at different places, some mobile 'Nakas' were also set up. At around 9:30 pm, a Tavera car (JK 01 AB 5470) was stopped near ITI Sundarbani for checking.

Reportedly, Two persons from Punjab were traveling in the car. On search, a huge amount of heroin was recovered from the car. A case has been registered against both of them under the NDPS Act at Sunderbani police station. The SSP said that investigation is also being conducted from the aspect of Narco terror.
