LUDHIANA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in Ludhiana Gas Leak Case. He announced an ex-gratia grant of Rs 2 lakh for the kin of deceased through PMNRF. Rs 50,000 will be given to each of the injured. PM Modi said that he is deeply saddened by the incident that took place due to the gas leak in Ludhiana.

Notably, the death toll in the gas leakage incident that occurred in Giaspura in Ludhiana district on Sunday has mounted to 11. About 10 people were fainted due to the gas leak. They have been admitted to the local hospital. The police administration reached the spot and sealed the entire area.

Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann expressed sorrow over the incident and tweeted, "The incident of a gas leak in the factory in the Giaspura area of Ludhiana is very sad. Police, government and NDRF teams are present at the spot. All possible help is being extended to the affected. Rest details soon."
