‘The Blue Whale’ enters in India, claims one life

A 14-year-old boy Manpreet Singh Sahani allegedly killed himself this weekend, jumping off the terrace of a seven-floor building in Mumbai’s Andheri on Saturday. Manpreet is the first Indian victim of ‘Blue Whale’ challenge.

Manpreet was constantly in touch with his friends on whats aap and he was discussing about the game with them. Even he had written to his friend that they would have to attend his cremation. He also clicked his picture before committing suicide from the terrace. He mentioned that after some time people would only see his picture.

‘The Blue Whale’ game is based on a 50-day dare in which the player has to tackle each challenge posted online daily and post selfies on the private group. The last stage of the game is suicide. 

More than 250 children from Russia and UK killed themselves while playing this game. The game was designed in Russia and it encourages the participants to perform daring acts. The governments of both the countries have been continuously putting their hard efforts so that the children could not play this game.

Even Instagram has also come forward and telling the user to not follow the game. Whenever a user types about the Blue Whale, the Instagram gives a warning to the user. It’s a biggest threat to India and South Asia as well.
