IMD Issues Red and Orange Alerts for Himachal Pradesh latest news updates: The IMD Shimla has issued red and orange alerts for several districts of Himachal Pradesh, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and other adverse weather conditions.
The districts under red alert are Kangra, Mandi, Solan, and Sirmaur, while the districts under orange alert are Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, and Shimla.
The State IMD has also issued a yellow alert for two districts — Kullu and Chamba — warning of heavy rain. Meanwhile, no alerts have been issued for Lahaul and Spiti, and Kinnaur.
The weather is more or less likely to remain the same for tomorrow, June 30, with the IMD issuing yellow and orange alerts for several districts of the state.
On June 30, the districts under orange alert — with warnings of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and other weather conditions — are Una, Kangra, Mandi, Bilaspur, Solan, and Sirmaur.
Meanwhile, the districts under yellow alert are Hamirpur, Kullu, and Shimla.
Southwest Monsoon: The National IMD on Sunday updated that the Southwest Monsoon has covered the entire country as of June 29, 2025 — nine days ahead of the normal date of July 8.
“The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and the entire Delhi region today, the 29th of June, 2025. Thus, it has covered the entire country on June 29, 2025, against the normal date of July 8 — nine days earlier than usual,” the IMD stated.
