Mandi: Family That Lost Way Returning from Shikari Mata Temple Found Safe After Overnight Rescue Operation News: An eight-member family that had lost their way while returning from the Shikari Mata Temple in Janjehli was found safe this morning near Tangral Nala. The family, residents of the Dadaur area, lost their way around 7:30 p.m. on October 23 due to dense forest and fog.
As soon as the incident was reported, the administration sprang into action. Around 11:00 p.m., an SDRF team was dispatched to Janjehli, and by 2:00 a.m., the team reached the Ruhara area and began the search and rescue operation. By around 6:30 a.m., all family members were found safe.
SDM Thunag, Manu Verma remained present at the site throughout the night, continuously monitoring the rescue operations. Teams from the police, revenue department, home guards, fire department, and local volunteers coordinated effectively to complete the operation under challenging conditions.
The family included retired principal Rajendra Kumar and a total of eight members, who had lost their way while returning from the temple. Among them was Aarti, a former student of Rajendra Kumar and a resident of Janjehli. Deputy Head Bheem Singh informed the Janjehli Police Station, after which three separate search teams were deployed — the first towards Budhakedar, the second along the main road from Raigarh, and the third from Deji towards Pakhtiar.
