Road Closures, Power Outages, and Landslides Hit Shimla and Other Districts

Himachal Pradesh Weather, Chandigarh Mandi Highway News: In an important piece of news for those travelling on Chandigarh-Mandi highway, the heavy rains have caused damage on highway near Pandoh dam in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh. 

Many parts of Himachal Pradesh have suffered heavy losses due to heavy rains, last year. This is why Himachalis are concerned about this year's rain as pre-monsoon showers have already created an atmosphere of fear.

On Wednesday morning, 63 roads were reportedly closed for traffic in the state. 319 power transformers were also damaged. In the evening, a large number of roads and power transformers were restored.

Most transformers were affected in Mandi, Chamba and Kullu. It has been raining intermittently since night in the state capital Shimla. Last night Kataula, Pandoh 106.0, Sujanpur Tihara 80.0, Gohar 55.0, Jot 54.0, Dharamshala 48.4, Kahu 46.5, Mashobra 45.0, Baggi 40.2, Mandwar 2.3.3.3.2.3 mm. Rain was recorded.

Himachal Pradesh Weather, Chandigarh Mandi Highway News: 

The Chandigarh-Manali National Highway, which was restored after nearly eight months at a cost of 40 crores near Pandoh Dam in Mandi district, is once again under threat. The National Highway, built with great effort, is once again on the verge of collapse.  Cracks are beginning to appear on the highway, which are gradually increasing. However, traffic has not been affected yet. Landslides near scissor bend on NH. A truck has been hit by it.  This truck was parked here due to breakdown. The truck has been damaged due to debris.

In Gram Panchayat Anah of Saraj Vidhan Sabha Constituency of Mandi District, water filled the drain due to heavy rain. Cars and bikes were buried under the debris. A house was also damaged due to the debris. A few other houses adjacent to the drain are also at risk. People themselves are engaged in removing debris.
