The Centre has approved 22 proposals under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), involving a projected investment of Rs 41,863 crore, including three projects in Haryana. The three Haryana applicants are Signum Electronics Ltd, India Circuits Pvt Ltd and ATL Battery Technology (India) Pvt Ltd, with plans for multilayer printed circuit boards (PCBs) and lithium-ion cells for digital applications. The projects are expected to generate 3,967 direct jobs.

Units cleared under the ECMS are spread across seven other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, reinforcing the government’s aim for geographically balanced industrial growth and expansion of electronics manufacturing across the country. With this latest tranche, 46 applications have now been cleared under ECMS across 11 states, involving total investments of Rs 54,567 crore and generating about 51,000 direct jobs.

Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said the programme has strengthened India’s electronics ecosystem by enabling indigenous production to meet a large share of domestic demand, which will reduce import dependence for critical components and support high-value manufacturing. Vaishnaw also emphasised that India’s young demographic profile through 2047 makes it essential to build strong structural foundations now and highlighted government support for design, quality, skilling and domestic sourcing to become intrinsic to the industrial culture.
