The SSP  urged everyone to celebrate the new year peacefully and let others celebrate peacefully. 

Chandigarh Police have made detailed security arrangements in the Union Territory ahead of the New Year celebrations, police said.

SSP Kanwardeep Kaur told news agency ANI that around 1,100 personnel will be deployed in the city, along with the deployment of 17 DSPs and several inspectors.

Under the security arrangements, blockades will be set up at 70 locations, including at the borders and within the city, as well as near clubs and bars, to curb drunk driving and related issues.

“We have made deployments at open places where large numbers of people are expected to gather..." the SSP added.

The SSP  urged everyone to celebrate the new year peacefully and let others celebrate peacefully.
