GMCH-32 Pride: Chandigarh's Laxmikant Tiwari Receives Bharat Gaurav Award for Medical Excellence

Laxmikant Tiwari, the Radiological Safety Officer at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, has been conferred with the prestigious Bharat Gaurav Award.

The award was presented by Punjab Governor and UT Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria at a ceremony held in a private hotel in Chandigarh.

Tiwari was recognised for his outstanding professional excellence in radiological safety and his dedicated contributions to social service. The Governor praised Tiwari’s work in the X-ray department of GMCH-32, describing it as a benchmark for patient-centric care and professional integrity. 

Tiwari, who joined the institute in 1994, currently serves as the national president of the Indian Association of Radiological Technologists and has previously received the Chandigarh administration's State Award twice for his social welfare initiatives.

The award ceremony was attended by several prominent dignitaries, including Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan, Haryana Cabinet Minister Krishna Kumar Bedi, and Mahamandaleshwar Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Maharaj. 

Tiwari was among twenty personalities from across the country honoured for their notable contributions to their respective fields. 

His career journey also includes a crucial role in the formation of the National Commission for Allied Healthcare Professionals, to which he was later nominated as a member from India.
