Chandigarh Schools to Resume Classes from Monday with Revised Schedule

The Department of School Education has officially announced the resumption of classes in all Chandigarh schools starting Monday, January 19, 2026. 

According to a report, the decision to reopen schools follows the winter break, with the administration introducing revised timings due to prevailing weather conditions.

As per the official schedule released by the department, single-shift schools will now operate from 9 am to 2:30 pm. 

For double-shift schools, the first shift is set from 9 am to 1:45 pm, while the second shift will run from 1:15 pm to 4:30 pm. 

This revised schedule is designed to accommodate the biting cold and fog currently affecting the region. 

According to officials, the revised timings are focused on ensuring the safety of students and staff during the winter season.
